About Us...

Westeholme Lodge provides a luxury service for small to medium size dogs.

We offer home boarding and day care where your pet lives with us in our home; never in a kennel.

We adore dogs and have made every effort to provide an environment which caters to their every need.

We offer the most loving home where your pet will be nurtured and treated as if they were our own.

Westeholme Lodge was designed for dog care and as such we can offer everything your dog needs with regard to security, welfare, companionship, play and exercise.

Our facilities include a playground, ball park and sensory garden

Your dog is always exercised in a safe and secure environment

Guests are monitored at all times and never left unsupervised

We include both physical and mental play and activities to challenge your dog in every way and keep them engaged

We have endeavoured to include everything in our home boarding and day care that a dog and owner could want. It is important that our business is successful, but more important that you love the service we provide and are happy to trust us with your beloved pet.

Home Dog Boarding

£60 per day

Our home dog boarding offers you peace of mind that your dog is safe and happy in our care whilst you are away.

Your pet lives with us in our home and gets to do exactly what they do when they are at their home.

We feed our guests the food you provide at the times they normally eat.

They are always supervised and our facilities are as secure as they can be with all areas fully fenced.

Dogs are exercised safe from dangers such as traffic, people and other dogs and we have daily activities that provide both mental and physical exercise and enrichment.

We always try and return your dog washed and clean, because its all about your dog having the best time and not about how muddy his paws are!

Doggy Day Care

£30 per day

Doggy Day Care offers all the awesome aspects of boarding but without the sleep over.

Our day boarders get to spend the day playing with their new best friends (hopefully!), in the playground and eating, sleeping and exploring to their hearts content.

Day care is the perfect choice for anyone who needs to spend an extended period of time away from their pet but wants them to have the best possible care in their absence

We are fully licenced by Shropshire County Council and have been awarded the highest rating we can achieve for a new business.

Part of our licencing was the undertaking and completion of the Ofqual Level Three Qualification in Professional Day Care and Boarding.

I have also completed an Ofqual accredited Canine First Aid Course.

As part of our commitment, to both you and your dog, and to creating the best business we can, we are constantly trying to increase our knowledge base and understanding with regard to the care of your pet. With this in mind I have undertaken the following training:

Facilities

Here at Westeholme Lodge we offer a safe and secure environment in which to give your dog the best possible care

Each dog that stays with us has a separate area for their own individual food, medicines etc...

We colour co-ordinate each guest with bowls, collars etc... allowing us to easily keep to your requested feeding regimes and give the best care for your pet.

We have a dedicated washing machine and dishwasher and also a grooming table for daily health checks.

A fridge/freezer is available for food and we have a separate shower room for clean ups.

Providing a home from home environment also means allowing the dogs to sleep close by so that they are comforted and feel safe. The Dog Bedroom is adjacent to the main bedroom, separated only by a wire gate. This ensures that at all hours of the night we have them covered.

Night time toilet visits are easily accommodated and we can be there if your pet needs comforting or re-assurance in your absence

Outdoor Facilities

Dogs are always supervised and accompanied when outside.

We have endeavoured to create the best possible facilities and environment that any dog (and dog owner) could wish for. We have tried to provide everything that we would want our dog to have to keep them engaged, challenged and active; both mentally and physically. With this in mind we have set up numerous different areas within our grounds.

The perimeter of our grounds are fenced and we have additional fencing around each of the individual areas of the garden

Our back garden is lawned with a selection of mature bushes and trees. The central feature is a lovely old tree which is great for games of chase and hide and seek
The front garden is secure, fenced and floodlit providing both a day and night exercise area

Our sensory garden has been designed for the enjoyment of all the dogs at Westeholme Lodge but mostly for those older and less active pets that might be happier just wandering around.

The aim was to provide a natural environment, both stimulating and enriching, that the dogs will want to interact with. The garden has been created from a selection of dog friendly plants with a variety of surfaces and interactive features

The walking trail provides a lovely area for dogs to explore. It is enclosed with trees and fruit bushes and connects different areas of the gardens

An outdoor wild grass 'snuffle mat' area allows for fun scentwork games.

Shady areas with outdoor bedding mean even our less energetic guests can enjoy being outside

The old drive is a lovely lawned area with mature trees and shrub giving a shady play area and an extra place to explore

The paddock is a fully fenced area for running around, chasing balls and general play. A playground is currently being added and we have various activities such as an outdoor ballpark and shallow paddling pools for hot summer days.
